At United Movement Organized Kindness (UMOK), community isn’t just what we serve—it’s who we are. Every third Saturday, our outreach distribution offers essential resources, dignity, and hope to those in need. But the real magic happens behind the scenes, thanks to a devoted team of volunteers, partners, and organizers who work tirelessly to bring it all together.

🏗️ The Setup Team: Starting Before Sunrise

Long before the first guest arrives, our setup team is already in motion—unloading donations, building tents, and arranging supply stations with precision and care. These dedicated volunteers turn a bare lot into a fully functioning outreach site in a matter of hours, rain or shine.

🍽️ Food Coordination by Everyone Is Somebody

One of the most heartfelt parts of the day is the hot, delicious food—and for that, we owe a huge thanks to Everyone Is Somebody. Their team not only prepares and distributes meals but does so with love and intention, ensuring each guest is treated like family. They are a cornerstone of our outreach, bringing nourishment and compassion in equal measure.

🚿 Showers by Clean the World

Another vital service is access to personal hygiene—and that’s made possible by our incredible partners at Clean the World. Their mobile shower unit provides guests with a clean, private space to refresh and restore dignity. These showers offer more than just cleanliness; they provide a moment of peace and humanity in the middle of hardship.

📦 Inventory Crew & Resource Organizers

Behind each table of hygiene kits, clothing, and essentials is a team of volunteers who spend the week before organizing and sorting supplies. From categorizing baby items to bundling hygiene products, they make sure every guest receives what they need without delay or confusion.

💪 Volunteers in Recovery & Reentry

UMOK proudly partners with local sober living and reentry programs to empower individuals in recovery. These volunteers show up with purpose and resilience, often having overcome homelessness or addiction themselves. Their presence at the outreach is both powerful and inspiring—proof of second chances and the strength of service.

🧡 Welcomers, Greeters & Story Sharers

At the front lines are the smiling faces who offer more than just greetings—they offer human connection. These volunteers create a safe space for guests to share their stories and feel seen, loved, and supported. They remind us all that kindness is often the most impactful service of all.

From organizing transportation to coordinating with partner organizations, the UMOK leadership team works quietly and relentlessly behind the scenes. They keep the operation flowing, resolve issues in real-time, and ensure every third Saturday lives up to our mission.
