Growing a Greener Las Vegas Through Community Partnership
At United Movement Organized Kindness
(UMOK), connecting resources with community needs can make a lasting difference—including helping trees take root and supporting the people who care for them.
In September 2026, UMOK donated several pallets of mulch, cement pavers, fertilizer, and other essential landscaping supplies to the Las Vegas Urban Forest Center. With help from Green Side Up, this partnership supported the UNLV Arborist-in-Training Program and habitat restoration efforts at the Center for Urban Water Conservation.
These materials are already making a difference. The donated mulch helps protect newly planted trees, retain soil moisture, and support soil health. Additional supplies have helped improve nursery pathways, protect irrigation infrastructure, and support the care and transportation of trees throughout the site.
Beyond the supplies, this partnership supports hands-on learning. Arborists in training gain practical experience in tree planting, tree care, and habitat restoration—building skills that contribute to a greener, healthier Las Vegas.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Las Vegas Urban Forest Center, the UNLV Arborist-in-Training Program, and Green Side Up for their dedication and collaboration. We also thank the donors, volunteers, and supporters who make UMOK’s resource-sharing efforts possible.
Together, we’re turning available resources into lasting community benefits—one partnership and one tree at a time.
